It's my favourite weekend of the year again folks and by the look of the program I can rest assured I won't be disappointed!

Wollombi Small Farms Fair begins on Saturday morning and will be jam packed with activities for young, old and the in-between! There will be fair stalls, farmers market, Farm Machinery Display, Classic Cars Display, Live Music, Landcare Planting & Regeneration Day, Museum Open Day – with historic exhibits, convict trials and conviction demonstrations, The Mower Mardi Gras, Andy & Rachel Switch-A-Roo Circus Workshop, Hunter Valley Zoo Animal Encounter, Lantern Making Workshops in preparation for Saturday evening’s Lantern Parade and so much more...Oh my goodness the list is long!

My favourite moment of the weekend, the Lantern Parade through the village on Saturday evening, is a magical feast for your eyes and soul and everyone is welcome to be a part of it. For those of you that would like to sit back and enjoy this ethereal parade you will get a great view from the Wollombi Tavern. Witness for yourselves the light and spirit of Wollombi's beautiful community in this enchanting spectacle.

We'll be kicking off the weekend with the greatly anticipated Wollombi Boots 'n' Ballgowns on Friday night. This good old fashioned Aussie Bush hoedown will transport you back in time with entertainment provided by Australia’s best-known, best-loved bush band the Bushwackers. They play Australian music, much of it inspired by the traditional working songs from the early 20th century and have been entertaining crowds for over 40 years. In true bushie style, dinner will be a 2-course spit roast affair featuring beef from the bullock spit, lamb on the spit and all the trimmings, plus good old fashioned country home-made desserts, tea and coffee. A well stocked bar will be in order selling beer, wine, sparkling and spirits (please note that this is an over 18’s event only and ID will be required). Bar tickets can be purchased both online with your tickets, and on the night.

Be sure not to miss this weekend in Wollombi and don't forget to go Scarecrow spotting. This years outer space theme has been lot's of fun for the locals with Darth Vader taking up residence on the front verandah of Noyce Brothers Cellar Door! On that note, may the force be with you and may you join us for the festivities in our beautiful Wollombi Valley this weekend!
